Happy get messy day. Last week, I had some pages ready to go right before I remembered that we had a prompt to do, so I had to set this one aside for this week.
photo 82906D30-0209-4FF6-9A2C-AA3C2C243346_zpszupx6nhn.jpg I had a hard time deciding if I was finished with this one or not. I was afraid of “ruining” it with words or anything that might make it look too busy or overwhelming. So in the end, simplicity always wins for me. photo 64B792DB-4391-4B3F-9A79-84A03743AEE7_zpsk572ezgl.jpg
I’ve really loved this quote (“Once she stopped rushing through life, she was amazed at how much more life she had time for”) for a long time. I tend to be one of those people who likes being busy all of the time, but I am learning about priorities and when I need to slow down.

It’s autumn and I love it, all I can think about is perfect football weather and leaves changing colors.

photo IMGP0004-001_zps57861fac.jpg I got pretty crazy with the gold sharpie but used no other supplies. And I loved the simplicity of just that little bit with a lovely sentiment from a favorite childhood book. Also, I can tell that I have been working on my handwriting, because it is getting better – faux calligraphy though? LOVE IT.
photo IMGP0008-001_zpsc2fd9062.jpgFor the second page, I just drew a leaf. It started as a rough draft for an embellishment for the first page but then it got too big and I ended up finishing it instead. GOLD GOLD GOLD, I love you.

photo IMGP0015_zps9fbc335f.jpgI think this week of art journaling basically shows the wide range of emotions I’ve been feeling. After a seemingly harmless floral appointment went to hell in a handbag, I pinned this quote to my wedding board. I’m not at all the type to get bent out of shape about flowers (I mean they are gorgeous regardless) but man, I know nothing about flowers. Apparently giving the florist free reign for my bouquet isn’t really the norm, either. Can’t I just carry a puppy down the aisle?  photo IMGP0014_zps28cae2b8.jpgAlso, I like to be sassy, so what’s new? Sometimes you just have to go get what you want instead of letting life hand it to you, ya know?! photo IMGP0011_zps8ea83808.jpgFinally, just calm. I basically just did a paint rendition of a picture that I took a while back. I’m finally getting over the need to get lines perfectly straight and circles perfectly symmetrical. That crap doesn’t happen in real life. At least not my real life. The grey background and instax are my faves.

Thanks for reading! Check out 001 and other posts from my friends.

Project Life 2013: Week Six

The weeks are just flying by! This week, I had so many photos so I decided to do two spreads instead of just having one that was super crammed. The first one of Monday-Friday and the second one was Saturday and Sunday!

IMGP0001I am trying to remind myself to take things of the everyday, things that are not posed. Sometimes though, friends and family aren’t really a fan. So some of these were on the sneak and I particularly love them!

IMGP0011First page has Kevin studying, Eric eating some breakfast for dinner, and my lovely roomies worshipping at home. Again, I just did the wrap up of the week in a summary because let’s be honest, I’m never going to want to read about school and all that.

This is the other side of that spread where I noted a date with Kevin, ribs, working out, a quote from Elise, and time at home!

IMGP0017Love this quote. Unfortunately it did not print correctly, but I managed to salvage it but cutting off the unwanted stuff and mocking the rounded corners on the one side. LOVE this paper too. This is one of the ones that has a blank to write the date (which I am not doing) so that is also covered up with the photo.

IMGP0020One of my favorite stickers by Amy Tangerine.

IMGP0021Elise’s quote up close!

IMGP0025The Mardi Gras page complete with snapchats! Snapchats are photos that you can send and you only have a certain amount of time to view them before they are deleted forever. Luckily for me, iPhones have the screenshot option. I loved using these this week!

IMGP0028The beginning of the parade!

IMGP0030After the parade + boatshow + cookie from Kevin + wings made by my Dad!

Still super loving this project and loving looking through the past weeks! I love how easy and doable it is on top of school. I am still very glad that I did not choose to do one spread per week, so that I don’t have to narrow down the amount of photos I use!
